Xiaomi seeks to create a 100W charger

The Vice President of the company offered more details of the project and indicated that the goal is to create a 4,000 mAh battery that gets charged in 17 minutes

Xiaomi’s Vice President, Lu Weibing, revealed some details about the project the company has been working on with the 100W Super Charge Turbo fast charging.

In March 2019, the Asian firm made public its desire to manufacture a team capable of withstanding a load of 100W, a task on which the group of developers has been working for long.

In simpler words, this would mean that a battery of a 4,000 mAh mobile device would be fully charged in 17 minutes.

Now, Weibing has revealed some new details, specifically five technical aspects that represent a challenge to overcome for the corporation.

One of the main aspects is the loss of battery capacity, as a result of the charging speed. It is estimated that this drop in cargo storage is 20%.

The company is also working to offer security systems that protect the motherboard, battery and other components.

In addition to informing about the current state of fast-charging technology, the manager has also assured that it could begin to be mass produced in the near future.
