WhatsApp’s multi-account feature is coming to Apple’s iPhone
WhatsApp launched multi-account support on Android in 2023. It's now coming to Apple's iPhone, according to Meta announcements
WhatsApp will allow managing multiple accounts on a single device for Apple’s iPhone, a feature available for Android from 2023. Users will not have to log out to switch from one account to another.
Multi-account support for iPhone was announced by Meta, which continues to invest in efforts to offer customers greater convenience and efficiency on its platforms.
According to data from the WABetaInfo site, the feature is already in testing on iOS. “And not only will it allow you to switch accounts without having to log out, but each one will maintain its own privacy settings, notifications and chats.”
To access the feature, there will be two ways to add another account to WhatsApp:
- By scanning a QR code: Users who already have an account set up will have to scan a QR code and upon receiving the verification code it will be activated immediately.
- Through manual registration from the settings: The user will be able to add a completely new account from the Settings section, in the same way as if they were setting up the WhatsApp app for the first time.
The feature is in the testing phase for some beta users and is expected to be available for all iPhones soon.
