Whatsapp works on importing chats from Android to iOS

The WhatsApp messaging network is finalizing details of this unprecedented and long-awaited function

The WhatsApp instant messaging app continues to work on a feature that allows chat history, including media files, to be imported from Android devices to iOS.

As reported by several media outlets, the function to migrate chats appeared in the latest beta update for iOS, specifically 22.2.74. It had already been included previously in v.2.21.20.11 of the beta for Android.

Thanks to this function, those who have previously used devices with an Android operating system who wish to transfer WhatsApp information to terminals manufactured by Apple, will be able to access their previous conversations.

Users will be able to migrate their Android history to iOS as long as they do not skip the chat history import step. This is because it is not possible to restore it once the WhatsApp application has been opened.

It should be remembered that it was in September 2021 when this same portal announced that WhatsApp was working on a migration from Android to iOS. Then, he indicated that it could require the use of a physical cable to connect both mobile devices, as well as an application created for this purpose, ‘Move to iOS’.

Currently the migration of the chat history is possible from Apple devices to others that work with the Android operating system, such as Samsung terminals.

This is a feature that is currently under development, so beta testers don’t have access to it either. Its release and implementation date is currently unknown.
