WhatsApp works on a new protection option for Android

The option to place the email as a protection measure for Android accounts could be the next WhatsApp novelty

WhatsApp for Android is working on a new security measure to protect messaging platform accounts, which may include an email address, according to the latest beta of this service.

The company has spent months developing various options focused on maintaining the privacy of platform users, with options such as locking chats with a password or new settings for temporary messages.

Among some of its latest measures are the option to silence calls from strangers, to give greater control over incoming calls, as well as a quick privacy check, new features that it launched at the end of June.

The company is now working on a new security layer with which the privacy of accounts can be strengthened using an email address, according to WABetaInfo.

This portal has verified that WhatsApp has included this novelty in the latest beta of WhatsApp for Android 2.23.16.15, launched through the beta program of the official Google Play application store.

From WABetaInfo they point out that this function will be optional and that it is different from the one already requested by the application when establishing two-step verification (2FA, for its acronym in English).
