WhatsApp plans to launch new official communication channel for Android

The instant messaging network WhatsApp announced that it is working on a new official communications channel, in the style of Telegram

WhatsApp continues to innovate to offer a better service to users: In this case, it is worth noting that it is working on a new official communication channel integrated into the application for the Android operating system.

It would follow in the footsteps of Telegram by having a customer information system on news, tricks, updates, recommendations and other important information.

It is known that social networks are currently the main channel through which WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram make their news, advice to the user and other relevant aspects known. However, WhaysApp wants to go further, according to information provided by WABetaInfo.

This portal announced “a novelty in the new update 2.22.17.10 for Android that WhatsApp is launching through the Beta program of the application store of this operating system, Google Play”.

According to WABetaInfo, “in this section, interested parties will also be able to access information about the privacy of their personal data and information, as well as the security offered by this service.”

The portal highlights, however, that the official chat of the social network will be “read only and will not allow the user to respond to their communications.” As expected, and for security reasons, messages will include end-to-end encryption.

WhatsApp reserves the option of blocking this official channel in case the user wants to stop receiving their messages.
