The instant messaging application will work through Facebook Pay and its operation "will be as simple as sending a message"

WhatsApp began to extend its payment service among users with the arrival of this function in Brazil, where it is available both for users of the messaging application and for small businesses.

The WhatsApp payments, which were first enabled in India, will also allow users in Brazil to make digital payments through the app and WhatsApp Business, in a country where there is a base of 10 million small and micro-businesses business.

It is a service that simplifies digital payments so that they are “as easy as sending a message”, as the company points out in a publication on its official blog. Transactions are protected by a six-digit PIN code or by reading the fingerprint.

To function, users must link a credit or debit card, from a series of associated banking entities, and it does not imply any additional cost when making payments or transactions with this service.

WhatsApp payments work with the Facebook Pay system, which will allow users to carry out transactions between Facebook applications distances in the future, as the company indicates.

The company explained that the payment service is available from Monday in Brazil, but that it will soon reach more countries.
