WhatsApp activates purchases from the chat

The messaging network WhatsApp activated the shopping functionality from the chat in India through a partnership with JioMart

In recent information on its official blog, Meta announced the activation of WhatsApp chat-based shopping feature in India. It is focused on the process of digital transformation in the nation.

According to Meta, the population in India will have the option to purchase supermarket products through the new WhatsApp functionality, thanks to Meta’s partnership with JioMArt.

The feature is activated once users of the messaging network send a simple “Hello” to JioMart’s WhatsApp number. There the option to review the product catalog for a potential purchase is activated.

Mark Zuckerberg sent a message through his Facebook account announcing the launch of this function, where he emphasizes the purpose of contributing to the insertion of India in online shopping, with options for millions of citizens who had never before made a purchase through the mobile phone.

Without leaving the WhatsApp chat, customers review the list of offers and can make their purchase, easily, quickly and safely.
