United States to take dollar bills in poor condition out of circulation

Dollar bills with wear or mutilation will not be accepted in the United States from the end of September

Once the end of September, the United States will not accept bills that are mutilated, damaged or very worn.

According to the announcement by the financial authorities, the 5, 20, 50 and 100 dollar bills without wear or writing on the currency will continue to circulate.

Entities such as “Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase, Wells Fargo, Citibank, will not accept dollar bills that are torn or blurred by wear.”

The news of a change in dollar bills had already been announced weeks ago. These new pieces will go into circulation in four years.

“The first to be modified will be the USD 50 ones, followed by the USD 20 one in 2030, the USD 5 one between 2032 and 2035, and finally, between 2034 and 2038, the USD 100 one.”
