Ubisoft will continue to investigate NFT

The company indicated that its Quartz project, based on nft, will continue with this phase for a while longer

The CEO of the video game giant Ubisoft, Yves Guillemot indicated that the company will continue to do research regarding the implementation of non-fungible tokens (NFT).

The company has a project called Quartz, which is currently in a research phase, which aims to determine if games can be created based on NFT.

Guillemot seems to walk back on some of those comments, emphasizing that, at this stage, Ubisoft is primarily looking to find out how NFTs can be applied to games and whether they will benefit players or not.

“We are very aware of the cloud, of the new generation of voxels, and we are studying all the capabilities of Web3. We have recently tested some things that are giving us more information about how it can be used and what we should do in the universe of videogames,” said the executive.

In December of last year, the company had made its first official announcement regarding the foray into the world of NFTs, which was accompanied by the launch of a beta version of Quartz, which was intended to offer token-based entertainment.
