Trump to apply 25 % tariffs to Mexico and Canada

25 % tariffs on Mexico and Canada announced by the new President of the United States, Donald Trump, seek to reduce irregularities in migration and fentanyl trafficking

Donald Trump indicated this Monday, hours after being sworn in as the new President of the United States, that he will apply 25 % tariffs on Mexico and Canada.

The compelling reasons are oriented towards the irregular entry of migrants across the border into the country and fentanyl trafficking.

The president spoke about this while signing various immediate executive orders in the Oval Office, and referred to February 1 as a possible date for the entry into force of these tariffs.

Donald Trump also referred to the BRICS group, to which Russia belongs and which China wants to join, mentioning that he could apply a tax of at least 100 %.
