Threads will allow you to search for publications with keywords in Spanish and English

Threads, from Meta, announced that it will allow the search for publications with keywords in English and Spanish

Meta has announced new features in the Threads search section, which will allow users to search for posts with specific keywords, a feature it has implemented for searches in English and Spanish.

Threads is a ‘microblogging’ platform that Instagram launched in July of this year and that can now only be downloaded in certain countries, such as the United States or the United Kingdom, excluding the European Union (EU).

In its current format, Threads cannot begin operating in member countries due to the type of user data it records and manages, which does not comply with the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Waiting for this application to finally be launched in Europe with a new regulation, the social network, which was born to compete mainly with X (formerly Twitter) is implementing new features to improve the user experience.

The last one has to do with the search section. Until now, it was only possible to search for platform users. However, Threads has started testing a feature that guarantees users the ability to find posts with specific keywords.

This system, similar to the one already used by X in the ‘Featured’ section, has begun to be tested in both Australia and New Zealand, as confirmed by the head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri.

“We started to implement it in English and Spanish, in countries where the majority of people publish in those languages, such as Argentina, India, Mexico and the United States,” he noted from his channel, where he clarified that this feature will be used both on the web and in the mobile version of Threads.

Once a word or phrase is entered in the search engine, the platform will allow you to search for results with that term and, in turn, will show accounts that include it in their username.
