Telefónica launches Blockchain Activation in Spain and Latin America

This program launched by the Spanish multinational for startups will allow the development of its own technology-based services

The Spanish multinational telecommunications company launched this initiative so that companies with a presence in Europe and Latin America feel motivated to develop their own blockchain systems.

The company explained through a statement that Blockchain Activation is “intended for startups that want to incorporate blockchain technology quickly and easily”. In addition, the adaptation will allow companies to provide more confidence and optimization in the processes.

“The value that companies can obtain from blockchain is to provide greater confidence in the information they handle and in the processes they execute. This can mean a radical change in some businesses, starting with those that include in their value proposals the certification of information, the management and protection of physical or digital assets, the traceability of processes or the reconciliation of different versions of the reality between several sources”, assured the Telefónica Company.

Blockchain Activation is led by Wayra, the accelerating network of the Telefónica group, and to facilitate the adoption of blockchain the network developed TrustOS, known for being a software package that connects business applications directly with the functionality they require, allowing companies combine the advantages of control, privacy, performance and scalability offered by private blockchain networks.

The entry into this network of innovative initiatives will also allow companies to, in the future, be part of a catalog of services available to thousands of Telefónica’s international clients.
