Spotify already has audiobooks

The music platform added more than 300,000 audiobook titles for its US customers

Spotify officially entered the audiobook market with a catalog of more than 300,000 titles that are available to US users within the platform’s main app.

The company knows the figures of the market in which it has just entered. Although audiobooks represent a 6-7 % share of the book market, it is a category that is growing by around 20 % each year.

The audiobooks thus join the other proposals already offered by the “streaming”, music and podcast platform, which makes it “the true destination for everyone’s listening needs”, as the company pointed out in its blog. official.

Audiobooks will appear in the Spotify app as a section in users’ library, where they can search for titles that interest them or access recommendations based on their interests from the home page.

Initially, the audiobook catalog is available to users in the United States, who have access to more than 300,000 titles, which they can buy on a website. The audiobook you buy will appear in your library, and you’ll have options like offline content download, bookmarking to pick up where you left off, and the ability to rate and comment.
