Shopify will move NFT sales to merchants

The company is developing a platform that will allow the purchase and sale of these assets within the system

The online platform Shopify announced that it will shortly begin to integrate the sale of NFT into its e-commerce, as indicated by CEO Harley Finkelstein.

The company, in the words of the businessman, is working on the development of a blockchain tool that will help in the sale of non-fungible tokens.

The announcement was made through Finkelstein’s official Twitter account, where he also revealed that the first tests could be carried out by the NBA’s Chicago Bulls.

Shopify’s integration with NFT should represent a major paradigm shift for the cryptocurrency market, connecting the NFT market with a market with the potential to reach millions of people around the world.

“Before Shopify offered this capability, sellers had to trade through third-party marketplaces, which means they have less control of selling and customer relationships,” said the CEO of the company.

Shopify has a market value of nearly $ 200 billion and is the 57th largest company in the world, behind giants like McDonald’s, Morgan Stanley, Shell and Volkswagen. In April 2021, the company’s CEO also hinted that the giant could join the DeFi ecosystem.
