Resident Evil 4 will be released again

The popular installment of the company Capcom will be brought back, but this time remastered and adjusted for the Oculus Quest

The virtual reality “remake” of the horror video game Resident Evil 4, developed by the Japanese studio Capcom, will be available from October 21 for Facebook Oculus Quest 2 viewers.

Resident Evil 4, the fourth installment in Capcom’s horror video game saga, was originally released in 2005 for the Nintendo GameCube and PlayStation 2 consoles, and later made its way to PC, Wii, later consoles, and even mobile devices.

Now, this title considered “one of the best video games ever made” according to Oculus, will arrive exclusively on its Quest 2 virtual reality headset on October 21 in the form of a new “remake” adapted for virtual reality, the company has informed in a statement.

The new video game maintains iconic aspects of the original title, including support for teleportation and movement between rooms as a means of exploring its universe.

Although the player’s movement occurs through the Oculus control stick, the developer Automature included a series of commands to be performed with the upper body through touch controls with both hands.

This new release of Resident Evil also redesigned the operation of weapons and other objects, so that the player can collect and interact with them as if they physically existed, and even remove them directly from the body instead of with the traditional weapon menu.
