PS5 will add Discord chat
The company Sony announced the inclusion in the beta version of the Discord service, so it will soon be deployed for the rest
PlayStation integrated Discord voice chat for the PS5 console in its latest beta update, along with other new features including improved Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support for 1440p.
The instant messaging service Discord already began rolling out the integration of voice chats for PS5 in its beta update in October. Now, it is PlayStation who announced through its blog some news that its new update includes, including the possibility of using this chat function.
“Enjoy multiplayer matches, regardless of whether people are playing on PC, mobile or another Discord-compatible console“, the instant communication platform said on its website.
In this sense, users who have access to the PS5 beta update will be able to link their Discord and PlayStation Network accounts from their console. To activate it, however, it will be necessary to use the mobile or computer app.
