Peru, leader in economic recovery in Latin America

According to the Inter-American Development Bank, Peru has highlighted as one of the financial growth leaders of recent times

The President of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Mauricio Claver-Carone, highlighted Peru as one of the leaders in the economic recovery of Latin America and the Caribbean, thank you very much to the “commendable” economic management of the administration of Pedro Castillo.

“We are seeing faster economic growth in Latin America and the Caribbean and, in the case of Peru, 13% in 2021 and we have a deficit of almost 2.6% of GDP, as discussed with the Minister of Economy and finance, which grants a space of management to the government, “he said in an interview.

The President of the IDB stated maintaining a relationship based on trust with President Castillo, as well as a work plan based on the current priorities of the country. In this sense, Claver-Carone said that the IDB portfolio with Peru in 2021 has been the “biggest and robust” in the history of the multilateral organism.

The IDB manager also stressed that the tax revenues of the Andean country are the highest in the last nine years and 20% higher than in 2019. He has also put into value the role of the Central Reserve Bank during recovery.
