Norwegian company allocates USD 58 million to invest in bitcoin

Aker ASA has created a subsidiary in order to maintain the balance of bitcoin investment in other companies

The Norwegian holding company Aker ASA has created a bitcoin subsidiary company called Seetee AS, to which it allocated USD 58 million that will be destined to invest in the popular digital currency.

According to what was expressed by the company this Monday through a statement, Seetee AS will have the vision of deepening its tools in the field of bitcoin mining and simultaneously promoting the strengthening of useful partnerships with major players in the world of crypto, like Blockstream.

According to Blockstream CEO Samson Mow, the bitcoin infrastructure company will work closely with Seetee in their quests to implement BTC mining and sidechains.

In this sense, the CEO of Aker, Øyvind Eriksen, commented that with this launch “the Aker Group takes another step towards software and financial technology. We are very excited about the industrial opportunities that will be unlocked by bitcoin and blockchain technology, and we want to contribute strongly to that effort.”

In addition, the new company is expected to invest in other companies in the cryptographic field as well as blockchain technology.
