Nintendo Switch 2 arrives June 5

Nintendo's new console, the Switch 2, will be released on June 5 to cater to the streaming and multiplayer segment

June 5 will mark the launch of Nintendo’s new hybrid console, the Switch 2, which is coming to compete in the world of streaming and multiplayer.

In addition to the hardware, the video game company will also release titles like Mario Kart World, which will allow up to 24 players simultaneously.

It has been indicated that the new product not only evolves from a technical standpoint, as the new console is larger, faster, and backwards compatible. At first glance, it reveals similarities with its predecessor, but also changes, such as the “7.9-inch screen, with 1080p resolution, capable of reaching 120 frames per second,” to offer higher definition and greater fluidity in gameplay.

Nintendo has emphasized that the Switch 2 can be used as a portable console or “connected to the TV to play from the couch. It’s also compatible with the entire first-generation game library, a detail many users have been eagerly awaiting.”

Regarding the controllers, they are still called Joy-Con, but in the new version, they attach magnetically to the sides of the screen for ease of use and improved stability. Additionally, they can function as a mouse if placed on a flat surface.

The console includes 256 GB of internal storage and a new button for online play, called the C button, to activate an application called Game Chat that will facilitate communication between friends.

Another new feature is the improved microphone; support for split-screen over the internet. This makes it easier for multiple players to share a game in real time from different locations, and a camera that will allow video streaming of the player while playing.
