During the first half of 2021, sales of non-fungible tokens (NFT) were at historical values compared to what was achieved in 2020.

Specifically, the profits from the trading of these types of tokens generated 2.5 billion dollars during the first six months of the year, about 13.7 million more than the same period of 2020.

The month with more sales was June when there were reached revenues of 150 million dollars, a figure that exceeds by 1,000 % what was achieved in the rest of the months.

NFT buyers and fans consider them unique digital collectibles with intrinsic value because of their cultural significance. Others treat them simply as investments, speculating on rising prices.

The sale that generated the most was that of the famous artist Beeple, with his work “Everydays: The first 500 days“, which reached a revenue of 69 million dollars in March.

NFT’s transaction volume has multiplied more than 25 times since December 2020, as NFTs usher in a new paradigm of interaction with culture, music, sports and the media.
