Nayib Bukele will give away $ 30 in Bitcoin for using the Chivo App

The representative of the government of Salvador announced the creation of an official wallet to make transactions with the cryptocurrency, within the framework of the approved legislation

Nayib Bukete, President of the Republic of El Salvador, announced that his government created its own wallet, called Chivo, to make transactions with Bitcoin. It will be “like carrying a wallet, but on the phone“, as a result of the law approved where the Bicoin becomes legal exchange currency.

According to the information issued by the chief executive, users will be able to choose the one they like the most, among other options such as StrikeorBinance.

Bukele also announced that users who decide to start using the Chivo wallet will receive $ 30 in Bicoint (BTC) as an incentive to start their operations with the government app. They will also be able to receive payments through the QR code.

He explained that, to access the benefit, Salvadorans over 18 must download the application on their personal mobiles. It is compatible with iOS, from Apple, and Android operating systems.

Once downloaded, it is necessary to open an account, like that of any social network, and certify it with your DUI and facial registration, which will be scanned with the front camera of your phone. If it is not possible to do so, you will be contacted by an agent, who will validate the identity of the person.

Once the creation and validation processes have been carried out, the government will deposit the $ 30 in BTC, which can be used according to the beneficiary’s tastes. They can convert them to dollar or buy in Bitcoin.
