Musk supports the use of blockchain technology in the United States government
Elon Musk pursues the reduction of federal spending as well as data protection through the use of blockchain technology in government
The owner of Tesla, Elon Musk, seeks to implement blockchain technology in the country’s government to help significantly reduce federal spending, as well as achieve greater transparency and data protection.
The director of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) had already declared before joining the cabinet his intention to reduce federal spending between 1 and 6.5 billion dollars “to help balance the budget.”
Likewise, the department headed by the owner of SpaceX, Starlink and the social network X, is analyzing studying “the use of blockchain to protect data, make payments and manage properties as part of the drive for efficiency” of said agency.
The idea of implementing blockchain technology in government affairs had been raised by former presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. during a hearing at a rally in Michigan, where he stated: “Every American can look at every single line item in the entire budget, whenever they want, 24 hours a day. We’re going to have 300 million eyes on our budget. If someone spends $16,000 on a toilet seat, everyone will know about it.”
