Microsoft works in an offline mode for Outlook
Soon Outlook users will be able to check their inbox, read previously downloaded emails and write responses without an Internet connection thanks to the new offline mode that Microsoft is developing
Microsoft announced that it is developing a new functionality, offline mode, which will allow Outlook users to consult already downloaded emails in their inbox and even compose responses.
Outlook offline mode will work for the desktop version for Windows and is scheduled to go live this September.
Users of this email will have the ability to “open and restart the application in Windows even if there is no Internet connection, as can be seen in the Microsoft 365 services roadmap.”
It is an important change in the current form of access that requires an active connection to the network, although it has been known that it will be limited to “a particular circumstance: being using the application and the internet is disconnected during its execution.”
Only in that case will the user be able to go to the inbox, read emails that they had previously downloaded and write responses or new messages that will then be sent automatically when the Internet connection is reestablished.
