Meta stops offering support for NFTs on its platforms

Meta stops supporting NFTs on Facebook and Instagram to focus on other ways to support creators and businesses

The company responsible for Facebook and Instagram, Meta, announced that it will stop offering support for the integration of NFTs on its platforms, less than a year after its launch.

Stephane Kasriel, Head of Commerce and Financial Services at Meta, shared the news on Twitter, explaining that the company wants to focus on other ways to support creators, people, and companies.

Although Meta had started to integrate NFTs into its platforms in May 2022, the move seems to indicate that the company did not obtain the expected results.

Meta will continue to support art creators to engage with their fans through other product lines to enable monetization tools. Meanwhile, Meta will continue to focus on the metaverse, viewing this technology as the next evolutionary step for the Internet.
