Malicious Chrome extension steals assets from Solana wallet
Several Solana cryptocurrency wallets have been emptied by a malicious Chrome extension according to reports from decentralized exchange aggregator Jupiter
According to data from decentralized exchange aggregator Jupiter, several Solana wallet users have seen their assets disappear due to a malicious Chrome extension that can go unnoticed by detectors.
The platform claimed to have identified a new malicious browser extension in an August 20 post. The threat, identified as Bull Checker, “had been targeting Solana users on Reddit, advertising itself as an extension to view all holders of specific memecoins.”
In this sense, they have warned users to immediately uninstall this extension if they have it on their computers, since it has the ability to “pass Solana’s simulation checks and appear as normal, although it is “a drain designed to steal funds from users’ wallets.”
It is activated once the user installs the Bull Checker extension, and waits for interaction with a normal DApp on the official domain, before modifying the transaction that has been transferred to the wallet for signing. And that is how the assets are extracted.
