Lula dominates Brazil’s electoral projections for the 2026 elections
The next Brazilian presidential elections will take place in 18 months. However, the current president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, already has an excellent projection above the rest of the candidates
The next presidential elections in Brazil are scheduled for October 4, 2026. The current head of state, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, already has an excellent projection for the elections.
Lula da Silva “leads all possible electoral scenarios, both for the first and second rounds,” according to a poll by the Opiniao Institute.
In fact, the current Brazilian president comfortably leads the first-round forecasts, although, as is known, the second round could be closer.
The institute’s results for the first round alone, if the elections were held this month, would be: Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (36.2 %), Tarcísio de Freitas (21.8 %), Pablo Marcal (11.4 %), Ciro Gomes (8.1 %), Eduardo Leite (2.9 %), Ronaldo Caiado (2.2 %).
To arrive at these projections, a poll was conducted between April 9 and 11, with 2,000 interviews and a margin of error of 2.19% and 95% reliability.
