Latin America increases its labor offers on cryptocurrency sector

Specialist platforms in recruitment and selection of personnel offer multiple job options and some companies cancel salaries in digital currencies

Various Latin American job search portals report a significant increase in offers related to the crypto sector. The professions most demanded are “engineers, developers and programmers, as well as content writers and translators.

In portals such as Workana, when introducing the words bitcoin, cryptocurrency or blockchain, a great variety of applications are displayed both for professionals in the technological and content area, while international pages such as Bitgigs request freelancers, especially in Venezuela and Mexico.

Other sites like Zononajobs.com from Argentina provide jobs for “gaming and Fintech companies.” Bumeran and Computrabajo exhibit aspirations for Venezuelan personnel. On Linkedin, companies of great importance and trajectory in the crypto world such as Binance demand “translation experts”.

In Mexico, the OCC portal registers proposals for specialists in blockchain development, and in “Chile, the chiletrabajos.cl site has offers published by exchanges and more than 20 possibilities when filtering the search by cryptocurrencies.”

Bloomberg published a report that reveals that the cryptocurrency sector has grown significantly, with offers doubling on the “Indeed.com platform while on Linkedin the offer grew by 600 % compared to August 2020. In addition, since then year to 2019 it had already had an increase of 400 %.”

On the other hand, cryptocurrencyjobs.co registered “1,500 % more paid job notices on its portal”, while the companies “Coinbase, PayPal, Kraken, KPMG and JP Morgan Chase” stand out among the companies that have increased the number of staff within their organizations.

Global scope

After the arrival of the Covid-19 Pandemic, geographical location is not a limitation in the workplace, therefore, platforms in English also present the same growth trend, also offering payments in cryptocurrencies.

Among the foreign pages, LaborX stands out. It is a platform that offers jobs for professionals or workers under the modality of freelancers, especially linked to the development of technology and the crypto area. Another page that offers jobs for “Lightning Network experts” is Lightning Jobs.

The development of other companies linked to digital payments boosts job offers. A great examples is “Ualá, the Argentine virtual wallet, which also operates in Mexico and, according to its founder, incorporated 85 people from 6 different countries to its staff in September 2021”.
