Korean group would have created a hack bot

Lazarus Group hackers developed a software very similar to a trading website, with which they managed to steal millionaire sums

One of North Korea’s best-known hacking teams, Lazarus Group, would have carried out several of its attacks through specialized trading bots.

This was reported by the firm Chainalysis, who talked about the DragonEx case, who lost $ 7 million through this “modus operandis”.

The group used a sophisticated phishing attack, creating a very realistic-looking web page, as well as a presence on social networks, for a fake company called WFC Proof. The alleged company had created Worldbit-bot, a bot for trading that was then offered to DragonEx employees.

This software resembled that of a real bot for trading, with the difference that it contained malicious software that could hijack the computer.

The attack was notable for its highly specific objective and execution. Hackers seem to be very well versed in cryptocurrencies, even placing an ironic warning on their website about not allowing anyone to access personal private keys.
