The country is working on launching three remote sensing satellites in 2027 to collect data, images, and other information about the Earth's surface
Iran plans to launch three satellites on March 20, 2027, as part of an ambitious project consisting of 18 main satellites and 6 backups.
The country continues to invest in the space industry. Iranian Minister of Information and Communications Technologies, Sattar Hashemi, has stated that this is a strategic sector, where a constellation of 24 satellites is planned to operate together to ensure stable communications and data transmission.
The system will consist of 18 main satellites and 6 backups. The first three satellites will be launched simultaneously in a single launch.
The satellites will allow the country to offer communication and data transmission services via space infrastructure, in addition to Earth observation and natural resource monitoring.
“Iran is also developing low-Earth orbit satellites. These devices operate at a relatively low altitude above the Earth and can be used for communication and data transmission services.”
