In 2023 Bancamiga reaffirmed its social commitment to Venezuela

The financial institution managed to train more than 2,000 entrepreneurs and carried out various actions to promote business development. Likewise, it implemented initiatives to promote education, culture and care for the environment

During the year 2023, Bancamiga demonstrated its social commitment to Venezuelans by investing in society to contribute to sustainable human development, seeking to generate a lasting impact over time to build the future we want for new generations, through cooperation with public, private institutions and multilateral entities, presents a document released by the institution and is derived from the explanation and summary offered.

“The purpose of our financial activity is to open opportunities for the country and to generate value with the execution of programs, the implementation of special activities, the support of different initiatives and the establishment of strategic alliances, guaranteeing ethical and responsible behavior at each step. that contributes to Venezuela,” said Carmelo De Grazia, president of the Board of Directors of Bancamiga Banco Universal.

Supported by its two transversal axes, innovation and entrepreneurship, the management of Social Responsibility of this bank promotes education, culture, sports and care for the environment.

Business development and social economy

Carmelo De Grazia specified that, in terms of entrepreneurship and business development, more than 2,200 entrepreneurs, micro, small and medium-sized entrepreneurs from all over the country were trained in more than a hundred training activities, both in person and online, designed to raise their business capabilities, contribute to making their initiatives sustainable over time, promote businesses that improve the social conditions of their surroundings and the environment.

 “As part of the alliance signed between Bancamiga and UNDP Venezuela, in 2023 two cohorts of the En Marcha Digital program were implemented, which gave participants the opportunity to transform their businesses by training in six sessions and receiving technical support from this program. one hundred percent virtual, developed by the international entity,” he noted.

De Grazia highlighted that the Center for Creativity and Innovation for Arts and Entrepreneurship, an initiative of Bancamiga, in alliance with the Civil Association Aprendo y Emprendo and the Francisco Narváez Museum of Contemporary Art Foundation, in Porlamar, celebrated its first anniversary in 2023. as a consolidated project in the state of Nueva Esparta, which facilitated more than 25 workshops totaling more than 100 hours of training.

In alliance with the Institute of Higher Studies of Administration (IESA), more than 200 people entered the virtual classroom of the Emprende program, to validate their business ideas. Likewise, in collaboration with Impact Hub Caracas, Bancamiga joined the celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week, with two master classes in which more than 500 people participated.

Bancamiga: Social inclusion and support for culture

For the bank, the promotion of education and support for culture is essential, which is why several actions were carried out in these areas, such as the renewal of the alliance with the Fundación Educando Ninos Felices (Fundafelices), to give continuity to the program. “With you in the classroom”, an initiative that guarantees the training of 180 children and young people from vulnerable areas during the 2023-2024 school year, recalled Carmelo De Grazia.

Likewise, an alliance was signed with the Andrés Bello Catholic University (UCAB) to carry out actions and activities of common interest in different areas, as well as promote academic, business and social development. Through this agreement, Bancamiga donated a Power 7 server to update students’ practices and sponsored the Western Caracas Book Fair (FLOC).

In the musical field, the president of the Board of Directors of Bancamiga mentioned other achievements, such as the donation of uniforms to more than 300 members of the Chacao Nucleus of the National System of Children and Youth Orchestras and Choirs of Venezuela and the signing of the cooperation agreement with the Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho Symphony Orchestra (OSGMA), to support the group’s social programs, the scholarship program for musicians and the implementation of joint activities.

Together with Fundafelices and the OSGMA, more than 400 children from the San José School, Nuevo Horizonte, in Caracas, enjoyed the educational concert “Journey to the bottom of an orchestra.” In addition, 85 children from the Venezuela Children’s Choir, in Sarría, Caracas, benefit from the support provided by the bank through Fundafelices, for the maintenance of musical instruments and infrastructure, transportation expenses, teacher fees, among others.

In 2023, the “Bancamiga con el Arte” program was inaugurated, for the promotion of plastic arts and the work of Venezuelan creators. This initiative sponsored six gatherings of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA) Venezuela Chapter, dedicated to understanding and disseminating the work of national visual artists. Twelve computers were also donated for the development of the heritage, artistic and historical research programs of the Sacred Museum and the Archbishop’s Palace, assigned to the Archdiocese of Caracas.

Working for the planet

The preservation of human life and the planet we inhabit depends on environmental sustainability. For this reason, said Carmelo De Grazia, “Bancamiga joined the conservation efforts carried out by Provita, the Ministry of Popular Power for Ecosocialism and Inparques to preserve the Paria Peninsula National Park and the protected species of sea turtles in the eastern end of the state of Sucre.”

To support the Landscaping Project of the Parque del Este Generalísimo Francisco de Miranda, in Caracas, Bancamiga made a donation of large trees and its collaborators, along with their families, voluntarily participated in a reforestation day, he added.

Bancamiga employees also joined the initiatives to care for the environment, collecting more than 11,000 plastic containers identified as PET-1 to convert them, with the help of Plastitec, into other utilitarian objects.

Bancamiga: Solidarity

De Grazia pointed out that Bancamiga is an institution that is sensitive to the needs and social programs carried out by other institutions, such as the Doctor Domingo Luciani Hospital, which was given high-tech medical equipment to perform surgical interventions on hundreds of people monthly.

Likewise, the bank supported the social programs of institutions such as Senos Ayuda, Traki Foundation, Rotary International, FundaLaser, Kariña Social and Sports Foundation, Foundation for the Development of Arts and Culture (Fundearc).

“In 2024, we will continue working together to build a better country, to continue consolidating Bancamiga as a leading institution in the financial market, which invests in human development, ratifying its social commitment to Venezuelans,” he concluded.
