Hospital Universitario de Caracas inaugurates robotic surgery aervice

This Monday, May 25, the robotic surgery and reconstructive plastic surgery service was inaugurated at the Hospital Universitario de Caracas, with the participation of interim president Delcy Rodríguez.

The services are part of the “Health and Life 2026 Plan,” a public policy aimed at strengthening the public health system.”

During the inauguration, Rodríguez thanked the People’s Republic of China for its cooperation, stating that “this pilot center of the Hospital Universitario de Caracas is being equipped with Chinese technology.” He added that services will be provided in urology, gynecology, thoracic surgery, and general surgery.

For his part, the director of the University Clinical Hospital, Dr. Luis Lira, emphasized that this new “state-of-the-art multi-arm device will not only optimize the precision of complex surgical procedures, but will also have a direct impact on the teaching role of the university hospital.”
