Google prepares multi-device support for the Messages application

Google Messages users will be able to access this form of communication and chats with other contacts on a device other than the main one

Google is preparing multi-device support for the Messages application, which will allow users to access this form of communication and chats with other contacts on a device other than the main one.

Currently, messages can be read, sent or received in this service on the Android device that is used as the main phone, that is, on which a SIM with a number is used.

Although the mobile application is the traditional way to review messages, there is an alternative where you can review them from another computer, as long as Messages for web is opened in the browser.

Recently, the company has implemented different functions in this service with the aim of improving the communication possibilities of Messages, such as recording and sending voice messages from smartwatches with Wear OS operating system.

Now, Google is preparing an update for Messages that provides this service with multi-device support, so that messages can be accessed on other devices, as Android Authority has announced.

This medium includes the findings of AssembleDebug, which has announced that in order to offer this feature, Google will use the phone number and Google account to configure Messages on various devices.

In this way, users will be able to send and write messages from secondary devices to the main terminal, such as tablets or other Android phones, without having to physically exchange the SIM card.
