Google Play includes recommendations based on user preferences

The Google Play application store will offer recommendations aligned with user preferences

Recent Google Play updates to version 42.1.27 give users the option to share location, through which the app store will offer suggestions according to their personal preferences.

Google has indicated that “there will be four elements in which you will receive personalized recommendations: books, applications, search results and offers.”

The suggestions are evident both in the application store and in “other applications that may have advertising or different content recommendation systems.”

In the recent update of Google Play appears the “Collections” feature, which has been designed to make it easier to discover content and applications consistent with the user’s local environment and that will allow you to find “region-specific offers and applications, which can be particularly useful if you are exploring a new place or on vacation.”

When you accept permission to access the location, the Google Play Store will display the options: allow access only while using the application, allow it only once, or not allow it at all.

If the user does not want to receive recommendations based on their location, they must deactivate the function in the Google Play settings. To do this, you must go to the profile photo in the upper right corner, select “Settings”, then “General”, and deactivate the “Use device location” option.
