Google Meets will recognize gestures thanks to AI

The platform is working on a new functionality, hand in hand with the AI to notice when someone raises their hand, among other things

The Google Meet video call platform will have the ability to recognize gestures such as raising your hand to ask for the floor thanks to the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI).

Currently, you must press a button to request the time, which is included at the bottom of the screen of this video call service. The “Raise Hand” icon appears in the participant’s self view and is moved to the main conference grid so moderators can see that participants have raised their hand.

The company has recently been working on new features for Google Meet, which has commented within the framework of the international educational technology fair BETT, which is being held these days in London.

Along with the updates to its browser, Google Chrome, the company shared some new features in Workspace for customers in the field of education in its Google Docs, Slides and Classroom services.

Another of the apps the company has been working on is Google Meet, where speaker notes will begin to appear during presentations and recordings will receive support for adding subtitles in English, French, German, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese.
