France makes arrests amid rise in cryptocurrency-related crimes
The French government has made around twenty arrests in recent days for kidnappings and attempted kidnappings of cryptocurrency holders
The recent wave of kidnappings and attempted kidnappings of cryptocurrency holders, particularly in France, has led authorities to arrest more than 20 people involved in these cases.
A meeting between law enforcement authorities and crypto industry players, attended by French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau, shed light on the details of clearly gruesome cases in which the victim was mutilated, and a ransom demanded in cryptocurrency.
Among the decisions, emerging from this meeting, is “security training for cryptocurrency professionals and their families by elite gendarmerie and police units.”
On the other hand, the creation of a work program that helps structurally improve the safety level of industry professionals.
