Former Trump National Security advisor is the new CEO of Meta

Dina Powell McCormick, former National Security Advisor to President Donald Trump, has been appointed president and vice president of Meta

Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Meta, announced the appointment of Dina Powell McCormick as president and vice president of the multinational technology company.

The 52-year-old executive, born in Egypt and who served as an advisor to George W. Bush and current President Donald Trump, “will be part of the leadership team and will participate in defining the global strategy and the execution of the company’s major projects.”

This appointment comes a few weeks after Powell left the tech company’s board of directors, committed to the process of “accelerating the group’s plans in artificial intelligence and personal superintelligence.”

Her role is crucial in this phase of Meta’s technology and infrastructure investments. She has Zuckerberg’s trust, based on her experience in the international financial sector.

Among her responsibilities is working directly with the IT and infrastructure teams to ensure that “the company’s multi-billion dollar investments align with its strategic objectives and generate a positive economic impact in the communities where Meta operates globally.”
