Fedecámaras asked to stop the reform of the Tax Law on Large Transactions
According to Carlos Fernández Gallardo, president of Fedecámaras, all the actors of the national economy must participate in the discussion of the legal instrument
The president of Fedecámaras, Carlos Fernández Gallardo, expressed that the reform of the Tax Law on Large Financial Transactions must be suspended so that it can be discussed with all the factors, thus generating solutions to prevent economic agents from disappearing.
“We were unable to make our observations in the discussion of the law; We are also not aware of its appearance in the Gazette and we would like to be able to express our concerns about this legal instrument,” he emphasized.
Transaction tax will have negative consequences
He added that the legal instrument brings significant costs at the stock market level, as in the case of the agricultural stock market. “This brings uncertainty, we believe that this law should be reviewed and we request a space to be able to express our concerns in this regard,” he said.
“We welcome the rapprochement between the banking sector and the government sector, since this will benefit the people and the economy, but in this commitment to recover the bolivar, we must gain confidence and adequate policies are required. There are ways to achieve it, but we believe that this law is not the most expeditious way to achieve it,” he questioned.
