Those in charge of the social network Facebook are preparing new projects related to blockchain technology, which could even be related to cryptocurrencies as well.
According to what is presumed, the social network would have already prepared 10 projects related to the chain of blocks that include a data scientist, a data engineer, two software engineers and a product marketing leader.
“The blockchain team is a new company on Facebook, with the vision of making blockchain technology work at the Facebook scale. We are exploring areas of interest in all facets of blockchain technology. Our ultimate goal is to help billions of people with access to things they do not have now, which could be equitable financial services, new ways to save or new ways of sharing information“, says the company.
This change of position regarding the adoption of new technologies also presented the reassignment of the former member of the board of directors of Coinbase, David Marcus, who will be in charge of this new team.
Many rumors run around this project and it is presumed that Facebook is even preparing the launch of its own cryptocurrency in the coming months.
