State of Florida will authorize payments in cryptocurrencies
Seminole County will allow citizens to pay taxes and services in Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash through BitPay
After a partnership agreement with the BitPay global payment system, the Seminole County tax office in Florida announced the authorization of payment of administrative procedures and services through Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash.
The inhabitants of Seminole will be able to use the cryptocurrencies to pay for procedures such as driver’s license, identity document, vehicle ownership titles and housing taxes. The measure seeks to accelerate administrative procedures, make them more transparent and modernize them to enter the 21st century.
The State authorities recognize the strengths and benefits of the implementation of blockchain systems in administrative and government matters, provided that a strict regulatory framework is maintained to prevent cyber crimes.
