Facebook will extend its payment system to other companies

The social network will allow other companies to incorporate the service billing platform since August

Facebook announced that it will extend its payment system, until now only available within its applications and services, to other companies which will be able to incorporate it into their web pages.

Facebook Pay is the payment system for users to make transactions, payments or donations through Facebook apps and services. It requires having a bank card registered, whose data, as well as those of the payments, are encrypted the company assures in a statement.

Now, “for the first time” it will be available outside its services, when from August companies will start to use. Companies on the United States and Shopify merchants will be the firsts to use it, although Facebook hopes to continue extending it.

The social network says that the bank details will not be used to personalize the experience or the ads they see, and their activity, such as the payments or purchases they make, will not be shared on their profile, unless they want to.
