The instant messaging platform continues to introduce features focused on security and privacy to improve the user experience. In this case, it is a function that is already available in the version of the app for smartphones since May and that tries to limit access to the platform’s chats.

Now, WhatsApp also added to its beta version of the app on the Web the screen lock system, with which, in order to access the chats, the user must enter a password.

In this sense, when activating the screen lock function, access to the conversations is blocked by an interface in which you are asked to enter the correct password. Once entered, the user can navigate through the different chats.

In addition, according to the same means, the user can also configure when the screen lock password must be requested, defining a time interval. Another feature of this feature is that when it is enabled, push notifications do not appear on the screen.

If you forget the configured password, simply log out of WhatsApp Web and log in again, repeating the QR code scanning process.

It allows them to keep important conversations from one chat to a particular chat and generating a frenzy among users.

The new feature will make it easier to keep your conversations in order. However, it only allows you to pin six messages, a quite acceptable number for the frequent user.

Anchoring Twitter messages in operating systems

The new function of the instant messaging social network will be available for Android and iOS operating systems, and users from the web will also be able to pin some chats to the top. Although the operation will be different for each application.

For the web. When you need to use the function from the web, it is necessary to “click on messages”, once in the section, the user will select the important conversations and then move the “cursor over it until the three dots appear in the upper right corner”, clicking on those three points and select the option “pin conversation”.

iOS and Android. It is necessary to go to the messages and touch the letter-shaped icon in the lower right corner. Then it is necessary to slide the messages to the right to see the pin icon or simply press for a few seconds the conversation and “select the option to pin a message.”

The social network is scheduled to begin its beta launch for guests next November 2021, according to information provided through a press release.

In the trade they also point out that the Truth Social company will be a counterpart to other social networks that are in the market and will make it “face the tyranny of large technology companies.”

According to what was expressed in the statement by former President Trump: “We live in a world in which the Taliban have a large presence on Twitter, but their favorite American president has been silenced. This is unacceptable.”

Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) will be the owners of the platform and they also plan to develop a personalized video service, which will have “no-woke entertainment programs,” said company representatives in the statement.

For the first quarter of 2022, the owners of Truth Social plan to develop a network deployment throughout the United States. But at the moment they are inviting all those interested in joining the network to visit the platform’s website and sign up to be included in the guest list.

The partitions represent a “fundamental change” in the network architecture of the browser, and allow to isolate the network connections and cache with the webs, normally used to load shared elements more quickly, since in this way tracking is prevented of users, even through supercookies.

As explained from Mozilla, crawlers can abuse caches to create supercookies, which replace normal cookies to store user identifiers, but are more difficult to delete and block.

The changes introduced in Firefox 85 are focused on reducing the presence of supercookies through the network and cache partitions, since they “make them useless for monitoring between sites”, Mozilla points out on its official blog.

Firefox 85 also introduces pooled connection partitions, prefetch, speculative, and TLS session identifiers, to protect users from connection-based tracking.
