Later, they will have to negotiate with the European Parliament the final version of said law, which will establish specific and minimum standards in the area for the first time.

The Council issued a statement explaining “that the European Commission’s legislative proposal aims to increase the welfare of dogs and cats from breeders, sales establishments and shelters, while also aiming to improve consumer protection, ensure fair competition and combat illegal trade.”

They have clarified that this proposal “does not affect individual pet owners. However, anyone wanting to place a cat or dog on the EU market will have to ensure that it is microchipped for traceability purposes.”

As the requirements of the legislative proposal are minimum standards, Member States can maintain or introduce stricter rules.

Some of the aspects that will be provided for in this law are:

-The regulation of breeding, with frequency limits and minimum and maximum age.

–Prohibition of breeding practices, such as inbreeding (breeding between parents and children; siblings and half-siblings; grandparents and grandchildren), although it is clarified that inbreeding can be used to preserve local breeds with a limited genetic pool.

–Prohibition of painful mutilations, such as ear or tail cutting and claw removal, unless it is a medical indication.

–Daily access to open spaces for dogs over twelve weeks old, or walks every day.

–Operators and establishments will have to ensure that all dogs and cats have a microchip implanted and are registered in a national database before being sold or donated.

-The caretakers of these animals must have “an adequate understanding of their behavior and needs.”

-Social awareness when selling or donating dogs and cats about responsible ownership by pet establishment owners.

-Operators cannot abandon dogs or cats.

-The breeding of hybrids (the result of crossing with a wild species) is prohibited.

-After two cesarean sections, cats and dogs will not be used for reproduction, to preserve their health and well-being.

–Dogs and cats with extreme traits should be excluded from breeding, to avoid passing these traits on to future generations if there is a high risk of detrimental effects to their well-being or that of their offspring.

–Imports will be subject to the same standards or their equivalents.

Among those affected are prominent global cryptocurrency exchanges, such as Binance, KuCoin, Huobi, Kraken, Gate.io, Bittrex, Bitstamp, MEXC Global and Bitfinex.

In a press release issued today, the FIU IND requested the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology to block the URLs of these companies, presumably to restrict access to their websites on Indian soil.

According to the document, to date, 31 digital asset service providers have been registered with the IND FIU. However, a number of offshore entities, which supply a significant proportion of Indian users, were not registered and did not comply with the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Terrorist Financing (CFT) Framework.

The regulation for digital asset providers in India, whether based in India or abroad, imposes specific requirements, such as registration with the Financial Intelligence Unit as a Reporting Entity. Once registered, they must adhere to the regulations set out in the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) of 2002, which sets out obligations aimed at preventing money laundering activities, including Know Your Customer (KYC) guidelines for client incorporation.

India, ranked as the top country in the Chainalysis Global Cryptocurrency Adoption Index in 2022, has become the second largest market by transaction volume globally, only surpassed by the United States.

Faced with the growing adoption of cryptocurrencies, Indian regulators are taking action. The country is working on a regulatory framework based on the recommendations of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Financial Stability Board (FSB). This framework, scheduled for launch in 2024, is expected to include advanced KYC standards for cryptocurrency companies, requirements to publish real-time reserve audits, and a uniform tax policy internationally, placing cryptoexchanges on the same status as authorized dealers, according to the guidelines of the Reserve Bank of India.

The company introduced these robots in November 2017, when it indicated that they could “form an emotional bond with family members while providing them with love, affection, and the joy of caring for and raising a companion.”

These dogs, which look similar to a spotless Dalmatian puppy, show smooth movements thanks to the integration of a total of 22 axes, have sensors to respond to voice and touch and can express emotions thanks to two OLED lights placed in the eyes.

This robot, which requires the My Aibo application to use, uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to learn from the interactions of its owners and develops “a unique personality over time,” according to what the Japanese manufacturer indicated at the time.

That is why some of the users who purchased these devices at the time will use them as an emotional support device for people with special needs, since they are capable of simulating realistic behaviors.

Germany, according to Coincub, has passed the United States in the ranking for the period considered in its study. On the other hand, El Salvador, in Central America, remains in 25th place on the list.

Coincub took into account nine criteria, which led to these conclusions that give Germany first place as a pro-crypto country. These criteria are: “government regulation, financial services, population adoption, taxes, talent, the presence of cryptocurrency initiatives in the economy, trading, fraud, and the environment.”

Since the beginning of the promotion of digital currencies, Germany has maintained a broad vision and has considered the possibility of using them, always within an effective regulatory framework. In this sense, the German government had already shown some progress, including the adoption of a “blockchain strategy to exploit the potential of this new technology in the country.

Germany’s vision for its own digital currency has been positive from the start. Regarding the position of the population, it is estimated that 44 % of Germans are willing to invest in cryptocurrencies.

In order to update a computer to Windows 11, it must have minimum requirements that guarantee its operation, such as a 64-bit processor with at least 1GHz or two or more cores, as well as a RAM of at least 4GB and capacity internal 64GB or more, among other features.

Although it is possible to manually install Windows 11 on computers that do not meet the minimum specifications required by Microsoft, these computers may have problems with subsequent updates.

Lansweeper, a provider of an IT asset management platform, estimates that only 57.26 % of workstations are eligible for automatic upgrade for meeting CPU requirements, a percentage that grows if you look at those of RAM memory (92.85%).

In the case of the Trusted Platform Module (TPM), only 64.57 % meet the specifications, according to data from this company, from 30 million Windows computers from 60,000 organizations.

On the other hand, Windows 11 began to be distributed on October 5, 2021, and a later it is estimated that it has an adoption rate of 2.61 %, 1.17 % more than in April, compared to 81.87 % of penetration presented by Windows 10, and still below that of Windows 7 (3.38%).

In the AMI study, it states that the adoption of cryptos will continue to grow at a good pace during 2022, in a territory where there are great advantages to develop the “world of cross-border payments and crypto credit cards.”

On the other hand, the report also highlights that 8 % of the people interviewed confirmed that they have digital currencies, while in Argentina the figure rises to 12 % as a result of the inflationary process that the country has been going through for 2 years.

The market intelligence specialist company for Latin America admits that cryptocurrencies will continue to experience a volatile characteristic “and this could discourage some and could attract others”. However, 54 % of the “crypto-curious” interviewed for the study consider “savings protection as a key benefit of cryptocurrencies.”

Launch of crypto cards

The study also revealed that most cases of crypto adoption will come from private investors who will be waiting to “take advantage of the current low prices of crypto assets with the confidence that they will shoot ‘to the moon’ in the not too distant future.”

The company executing the investigation stated that “exchanges, in order not to lose relevance and remain at the center of the ecosystem, will launch card programs that will offer their clients’ money returns in BTC” and those investments will focus on Bitcoin and Ether.

According to the investigation, 2022 will be the year of the launch of crypto cards, forcing exchanges to develop programs and campaigns on these financial instruments to stay competitive in the market.

The car subject to the transaction is a 2021 Mercedes-Benz S580 and was purchased by a person from Saudi Arabia.

The company is very popular in the United States and specializes in selling new cars, used cars, as well as offering workshop services. In addition, it accepts 12 different types of cryptocurrencies, making it easy for customers to cancel all or part of the transaction with crypto, as well as the combination of the different digital currencies that users can handle.

It is the first time that the United States automotive sector has completed a transaction using cryptocurrencies in its entirety, which is an important sign of acceptance of these currencies as a form of payment in the sector, in addition to consolidating the use of Ethereum as one of the main virtual currencies used to buy real estate.

The use of cryptocurrencies in physical spaces increases

A study carried out by the Morgan Stanley bank showed that the acceptance of cryptocurrencies as payment in physical places is increasing significantly. Proof of this are the different alliances that are being developed between exchange houses and physical stores.

According to the report, “partnerships with physical stores are the “most important milestone in the evolution of the use of Bitcoin as a means of payment, since more than 85 % of sales in the US occur in physical stores and not on-line.”

Another fact that confirms the evolution of cryptos as means of payment is the alliance made between the point of sale provider NCR and the payment firm Blackhawk, which will allow numerous US stores and restaurants to accept payments in cryptocurrencies very soon.

Olmos, who is a specialist in cryptocurrencies, explained that since the beginning of hyperinflation, the use of cryptocurrencies has increased. “Given the harsh economic situation, crypto assets, which are used as an alternative to money, began to attract Venezuelan citizens.”

Cryptocurrency advertisements can be seen at different bus stops, vehicles, facades of various establishments, light poles.

Venezuela leads cryptocurrency adoption

Cryptocurrencies have become the “anchor” of many Venezuelans to protect their resources in the face of the impossibility of saving in bolivars. As of 2018, when the national executive allowed the use of foreign currency, companies with P2P platforms and exchange houses arrived and the businesses started accepting cryptocurrencies.

According to the historical data of LocalBitcoins, the year 2019 became the year with the most operations in a year with an exchange of “303 million dollars, when in 2013 1,248 dollars were negotiated.”

In 2020, Venezuela led the Global Cryptocurrency Adoption Index to perform Chainalysis, as well as the third and seventh place of the 154 countries in 2020 and 2021, respectively.

Crypto mining in Venezuela

Olmos explained that in 2018 the Venezuelan government founded the Superintendency of Cryptoactives (Sunacrip) and the Treasury of Cryptoactives of Venezuela S.A. Then, in 2020 the country had orders, resolutions and regulations, issued by the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) and Sunacrip, to regulate the activity of digital mining, among other things.

In 2021 the company dedicated to the sale of equipment and mining Criptoávila began its operations and provided Venezuelan crypto miners with a base to expand activity in the country. According to Gilbert Monasterios, general manager of the company, “since that date there is an increase in the number of clients and in the credibility of this activity.”

Due to the crisis in the electrical system and the poor quality of the internet, considered the slowest in the world, Venezuelan miners face great risks when carrying out their activities because, according to Olmos, it could occur “an electricity interruption while a group is mining so the equipment get offline and some may even be damaged.”

On the other hand, the Criptoávila company plans to install ATMs to exchange currencies for cryptocurrencies, which would be a great advance for Venezuelan cryptomonetization.

As described, the company specified that the collaboration will be possible after the Hermez network is officially launched in early 2021.

Likewise, the company reported that the Hermez network “is run by coordinators without permission who will decide the transactions included in each lot, based on incentives (rates)”

For its part, a Hermez spokesperson announced that this year “rates are expected to be predictable after the initial transitional period, given that a lot is the same scarce resource as a (layer one) block at present, the rates should be sufficient to incentivize a coordinator to include your transaction in the lot. The main difference is that now the lots can have 2,000 tx each ”.

In recent times, the clamor for layer two adoption has increased, leading to expensive gas fees. In fact, the latest incident of this type caused disruptions to project teams seeking to launch their platforms.
