Epic Games will no longer be at Apple

The entertainment company assured that the Manzanita company will eliminate its developer accounts for both iOS and Mac

Epic Games, the video game developer responsible for multiplayer Fortnite, recently removed from the App Store and Google Play, said that Apple will remove its developer accounts on iOS and Mac on August 28.

This measure comes after the removal of Fortnite from the App Store, the official software platform for Apple devices, due to the violation of its rules by implementing its own direct payments system, external to Apple’s, which collects 30% commission.

Now, Apple informed Epic Games “will end all developer accounts” of Epic and will restrict the use of “all development tools for iOS and Mac,” as the video game developer said on its Twitter account.

This measure, which will take effect next Friday, August 28, will involve the elimination of all video games for iOS and Mac from Epic Games, among which is, in addition to Fortnite, the Infinity Blade saga.

In response to this decision and the removal of Fortnite from the App Store, Epic Games issued a complaint in a court in the Northern District of California (United States) demanding Apple not to take “adverse actions” against Epic such as the removal of developer accounts.
