Efficient use of energy during Christmas and New Year

The time of year is approaching when electricity consumption increases due to street lighting, shopping malls and homes to celebrate Christmas and New Year. It is possible to apply measures to make efficient use of energy

The Christmas season goes hand in hand with an increase in electricity consumption both in the public sector and in homes due to lighting installations related to this date.

It is possible to efficiently manage energy consumption by putting into practice certain recommendations and, of course, applying common sense for the efficient use and saving of electricity.

One of the first suggestions refers to the use of alternative energy sources for lighting installations, such as batteries and other energy storage devices.

Also, use LED technology in lighting, given that bulbs of this type allow savings of 60 % or 80 % and have a long useful life.

Another recommendation for the December season regarding Christmas decoration lighting is to set on and off times for these accessories, since if you look at it from an efficient point of view, as long as you are not enjoying the spaces there is no need for the lighting to remain on.

In relation to this measure and particularly in offices, where Christmas decorations are also done, it is recommended to use decorations that do not require lighting.
