Cuba will ease tourism restrictions in November

The Cuban government announced that it will gradually reactivate this activity, since it is estimated that by now 90 % of the population will be vaccinated

The Government of Cuba announced the gradual reactivation of the country’s borders as of November 15, assuming that by that month more than 90 % of the Cuban population will have completed the vaccination schedule against Covid-19.

The Ministry of Tourism believes that, “taking into account the progress in the vaccination process in Cuba” and “its demonstrated effectiveness”, it is time to begin to make measures more flexible, for example by lifting the obligation to present negative coronavirus tests.

The new protocols “will focus on monitoring symptomatic patients and taking temperature”, although tests will continue to be carried out “randomly”. The authorities have also announced that they will recognize the travelers’ vaccination certificate.

Regarding inland tourism, the Government also proposed a reactivation “gradually”, taking into account “the epidemiological indicators of each territory,” according to a statement.
