Chile’s Central Bank announces 2.5 % economic growth in 2025

According to data from the Central Bank of Chile, the country's economy grew by 2.5 % during 2025, exceeding analysts' expectations, thanks to a boost in domestic demand, increased consumption, and investment

During 2025, Chile showed economic growth of 2.5 %. This is reflected in the National Accounts report published last week by the country’s Central Bank.

With data up to the fourth quarter of last year, moderate growth is evident, but it surpasses analysts’ forecasts, thanks to an increase in domestic demand, “with rises in investment and consumption.”

According to the report, the sectors with the greatest contribution were trade, personal services, manufacturing, and business services. Meanwhile, the sectors that showed a decline were mining, electricity supply, gas, water, and waste management.

The Undersecretary of Finance in the current government of President José Antonio Kast, Juan Pablo Rodríguez, indicated that the results published by the Central Bank confirm “an average growth of around 2.1 percent over the last 10 years.”

On the other hand, he emphasized that Chile needs “to return to strong, dynamic, and confident growth to generate more opportunities, better jobs, and greater well-being.” Regarding the biggest challenge for the new administration, the official indicated that it will be achieving annual growth close to 4 %.
