Cardano (ADA) achieves a new milestone

The fifth most valuable cryptocurrency by market capitalization reached more than 660,000 staking wallets in June

Cryptocurrency Cardano ADA has had a very hectic three weeks due to more than 50,000 new staking addresses it has registered, surpassing the 662,000 mark to launch a new milestone.

This number represents an increase of over 8 % since the first days of June when ADA obtained 600,000 staking wallets, In addition to another 2,656 active mining pools and their “staking funds totaled 29 billion dollars, 71 % of the total supply.”

During the month of June Cardano has also registered a pressure behind scenes. The crypto’s co-developers carried out an update to the Input Output Hong Kong, (IOHK), which “revealed that Alonzo can now execute smart contracts.”

The development is part of the Alonzo Blue phase and is the first on the Alonzo implementation roadmap. Additionally, and almost simultaneously, Cardano reported the start of investigations on the possibility or viability of “stable rates.”

IOHK exposed, in a blog post, that stable fees would facilitate fair and predictable prices for cryptocurrency transactions. Cardano estimates to rely on the “guidelines of the ledger of its current platform to easily integrate stable rates.”

On the other hand, the founder of the cryptocurrency, Charles Hoskinson, reported that his team is in dialogue with the authorities of El Salvador in order to analyze the possibility of Cardano also becoming legal tender in that country.
