Caracas begins to adapt to the cryptocurrency market

As digital assets are gaining more popularity among citizens, businesses are also gradually entering this sector

The increase in the use of cryptocurrencies in Venezuela has resulted in businesses in the capital city, and other places, beginning to adapt their payment methods to this world.

One of the main places that works under this modality is the Traki chain, with most of its stores both in Caracas and in the rest of the country accepting payments with digital assets (bitcoin, dash, ethereum, litecoin, bnb, dai, tether and la Venezuelan cryptocurrency petro).

Pharmacies such as Farmatodo and the Gina y Bambino network of stores, as well as the carrier Amigo’s Car Rental are currently accepting bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as means of payment. Also the Excelsior Gama supermarket has been accepting cryptocurrencies since the end of 2020.

Venezuela is currently experiencing an unofficial dollarization process, in which it has been difficult to make payments because the country currently does not have a large flow of banknotes, which makes it difficult to make payments accurately.

In this scenario, the use of cryptocurrency becomes practical due to the ease it offers for exact payments without the need to wait for the “change.”

That is why it is increasingly common to see businesses accept payments in cryptocurrencies and it is, in principle, much more practical.
