Australia to mine Bitcoin with solar energy

The Australian city of Whyalla has the first 100 % solar-powered Bitcoin mining farm

In Australia, the first Bitcoin mining farm powered entirely by solar energy has been installed. For the authorities of the country-continent, it is a great step towards a new economy.

Located in the south of Australia, in the city of Whyalla, the Bitcoin mining center was built by the company Lumos Capital Mining. An initial production capacity of up to 100 Bitcoin per year is expected.

The Australian government, in its fight to reduce CO2 emissions, is committed to the use of alternative energy sources. Solar energy is an ally in this case, as it is considered environmentally friendly.

It was learned that initially, the farm will have a consumption capacity of 5 megawatts to allow the estimated annual production of 100 BTC. This has been assured by Angelo Kondylas, direct from the mining center.

For his part, the Minister of State for Trade and Investment of Australia, Nick Champion, has pointed out that solar energy is the answer to the high energy demand of the cryptocurrency industry.
