Another job posting for a “SDE Sr., Machine Learning (ML), Amazon Search” provides more details on the initiative. It is mentioned that it will be a once-in-a-generation transformation for the search function, and Amazon intends to offer it to customers immediately.
The new search feature will provide an interactive conversational experience that will help users find answers to product questions, compare, receive personalized recommendations and much more, making it easy to find the perfect product for your needs. The annual salary for this position ranges from $134,500 to $261,500.
These job postings clearly indicate that Amazon is planning significant changes to its search function. Additionally, Amazon has recently introduced its own AI models called “Bedrock”, which allow customers to create models similar to ChatGPT.
